At this time last year...

We became parents to a second beautiful baby boy. He was teeny-tiny but cried very loudly. He had lighter skin and looked a little bit like an old man. He was nicknamed "baby C" and was the last to arrive. He weighed 3lbs, 9oz and was 17" long. He stole our hearts! We named him Grant James.

At this time last year...

We became proud parents to a beautiful baby boy. He was strong and hefty. He weighed 5lbs, 2oz and was 18.5" long. He was his daddy's spitting image. He had dark hair and was nicknamed "baby B." He stole our hearts. We named him Henry Carl.

We became proud parents of a second beautiful baby girl. She was so tiny but had a strong cry. She weighed 4lbs, 2oz and was 17.5" long. She had dark hair and was nicknamed "baby A." She stole our hearts! We named her Ella Rae.

This was us

Dear Ella, Henry and Grant-

Mama can hardly believe that this was us one year ago today, hours before I got to caress each of your precious faces and hear your beautiful cries. It seems like that moment was only yesterday and yet here we are embracing toddlerhood. It has flown altogether to quickly and makes me afraid to blink and step into tomorrow where I know you will be in the midst of another year that will bring you closer to your preschool years and eventually your school years. No parent wants their child to stay a baby forever, but what we would like is to capture perfectly all these moments of childhood where our hearts nearly beat out of our chests with love for you. Your first cry, the way you smell, how soft your skin is, the feel of your soft baby hair against my cheek, that silly look in your eye, your sweetness, the way you hold toys and chew food without all of your teeth. These moments I can't get back and I can't accurately describe them here or take a picture to remember them forever. Slowly, your first year will become something I only recall in small moments, as a gift God gives me to when He knows my heart aches to kangaroo with you again, stroke your baby faces and get back a little of my heart that is stolen with each day I've called you mine. I love you to the moon and back, forever and ever, every second of every minute, every minute of every hour, every hour of every day, every day of every week, every week of every month, every month of every year...for the rest of my life.

Happy 1st Birthday, my darlings!
Mama

Silly Saturday

This was Henry's version of clapping a week before he finally accomplished the real task. He was doing this in response to daddy clapping and while Ella and Grant copied daddy.

Our Evie

Our Evie is getting old, too old. I mean really time could you slow down just a wee bit?? Sometimes she's difficult to understand but lately even that is getting better and the things she says? Whew! It's like she's turning 30 instead of 4 in less then 2 months. This week she's hanging out with amma and ampa V...for a full 7 days without mama!!!!!!!! She's thriving, I'm struggling! She's been to circus camp, stayed a few days with amma and ampa A and I'm so proud of the big girl she is getting to be yet missing my baby. Where does time go?? I keep looking at the babies wondering how I'm going to feel when they are Evie's age..they are almost a year old ALREADY!

I got a better deal making Evie's birthday invite with the babies so we had a "little" photo shoot. Some with her typical cheesy smile and then a few I fell in love with. Some of my favorites didn't make her invite so I'll post them here for you to enjoy.

And my favorite...

This is your...

These are pages I completed for each of the kids after falling in love with this page from another scrapbooker. When I saw it I KNEW I had to duplicate it for my kiddos. The journaling is the same for each kid and are "random" fun facts about their grandparents. Stuff I probably wouldn't include in another page but things I believe they should know about some of their favorite people. You can read these facts by clicking on the page which will enlarge it.
