Silly Saturday

Evie is most imaginative. Today when she didn't have a phone handy to make her calls she used the next best thing...her Styrofoam cup. So silly!

Dear Evie,

Today is your 2nd birthday! Has it really been 2 years since I first held you in my arms and cherished you? So much has changed but you are still my precious baby girl. Words cannot describe how much I adore you and how much you have changed me for the better. The world is brighter with you in it.

My wishes for today and the rest of your life are this:

1. Always find joy in the small things.
2. Laugh all day long.
3. Let your imagination create new worlds, new ideas and great fun!
4. Spend time in your day just "playing."
5. Keep loving hard on your family. Show affection when you care. We love your hugs & kisses.
6. Read daily. It not only lets you learn new things but can show you a world you never imagined.
7. Be proud of your accomplishments, whether big or small.
8. Always march to the beat of your own drum.
9. Never be afraid of what "others" think.
10. Remember you are precious, one-of-a-kind, and a miracle.

I love you like never before. It seems that it multiplies daily and it cannot be changed by your behavior, your activities, or moods. It is forever!

Thought of the Day

After having Evelyn and watching her grow, I believed that I knew in a lot of ways the love God has for us-His children. After all, my love for Evie is so immense my chest hurts at times, and I lack words to described it fully. It is an overwhelming, unconditional love I have for her. However, today I came across this verse in my studies: "And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled with the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 4:17-19.

The love God has for me and you is so great it's outside the realm of our knowledge. We can't even imagine it. That is amazing!

Silly Saturday

I thought a blast from the past would be enjoyable. This was taking approximately one year ago. It is pretty self explanatory. But just for fun, Evie is enjoying Grandpa Jeff blowing on her feet. So much, that in her 11 month way she is asking for more, essentially sticking her feet in his face. Both enjoyed it!

P.S. I was at a conference yesterday, so forgive the lateness.

Isn't that what childhood is really all about? Being a child, exploring and being silly? Evie is by definition silly, which is how she gained her nickname: Monkey. So, to give you some weekend humor, and to show off our little Monkey, I've declared this and future Saturdays "Silly Saturday."
