FINISHED-A Week in the Life 2010

I finally finished our Week in the Life from October 2010. What an interesting project to do after completing the ones from 2011. It had been only a few months but there were so many changes. I've loved to see how different it can be, and just how drastically different we are after only a few short months. By this time next year our life will be even more different: we will be in our first home, we will have 3-2 year olds, a soon-to-be kindergartener, I will be back at work part-time and we will have two new nieces. It's crazy but we are living our dream!!!! What about you, what is your dream and what are you doing today to live it??? Other "BIG" things occurring in the A household?? Evie turns FOUR in 2 days and Ella WALKED!!!!

Raina Raina & Rocks

On the shores of Lake Superior, Evelyn was in HEAVEN!!! Why?? Because there she could collect one of her new obsessions....ROCKS! Every time she went to the shore her pockets were filled with them. We had to empty them before we left to go back to the camper and even then she would see 50 along the way that she would try to refill her pockets with. Getting her to take ONLY one each visit was a HUGE battle. We left the Grand Marais area with the start of our new rock collection. Right now the reminder of our vacation is sitting in the back of my van in a little pile. It puts a smile on my face every time I see it. She continues to add to her collection every time she is outside for any amount of time. She is not picky with size or color or shape. We have them all.

A month ago, Evelyn started singing a new song. "I'm a raina raina!" It started on a Monday and I assumed it was a new song she'd learned at Kingdom Kids at church but the song itself remained a mystery to me. She would sing and dance to it and encourage me to "sing along, mom!" I kept telling her I couldn't as I didn't know the song. Two weeks later, the song was still a mystery until she put on this shirt, which was a gift from her Auntie Keesha, Uncle Chris & Xander. The first thing she said was, "It's a raina raina!" Mystery solved!!! It's a BALLERINA!! Now when she sings her song, which she made up, I can sing along "I'm a BALLERINA!"

Soon, this little girl will be FOUR years old. She is changing into a little girl right before our eyes and it's an amazing journey to witness. Our big goals for this BIG girl: teach her to be respectful to herself, to others (especially her siblings), to us (her parents) and of her and our stuff. It's a big challenge right now. One of our values as a family is RESPECT. Another goal: Work with her on her pronunciation. A big win for me this summer was getting her to call her brother Grant instead of Nant. She still has trouble with the r's but now refers to him as Gant! Another win, she can now write her nickname. She starts her second year of preschool soon and I'm sure that this year will be amazing. And a third goal: getting her to remember her manners. Instead of saying, "get me juice" or using words like "now" she will be saying please, thank you and can you." Character building is my goal, that other stuff like riding a two-wheeler...well I could care less at this point. Her attitude and behavior are WAY more important. It would be a lot easier to work on the other though...a lot easier. And a lot less frustrating. But the results will be soooo beautiful and then her insides will be a even better match to this gorgeous outside!

Up next: the move, vacation and birthdays.

Grant, 1 Year!

Hard to believe that this was our baby boy Grant. He was born at 1:36 pm feet first way up in my abdomen, baby C until the end. On this particular day he is getting released from the hospital a whopping 21 days old. This outfit is a preemie outfit and he looks A-DORABLE and oh so tiny! So tiny in fact that he didn't fit the criteria to ride home in a regular infant car seat. We had to take him home in a car bed, he was THAT tiny. SO much has changed since he was born and this is what the G-man is up to and loving:

Weight: 16lbs, 8oz (he has gained 12lbs, 15oz)
Height: 27.75" (he has grown 10.75")
For the record Grant is lighter (by 1lbs, 8oz) and shorter (by 1.25") then Evelyn at 12 months BUT has a bigger head (which makes this mama laugh).
Wears: Size 9 months clothing and size 4 diapers. He is too long for 9 month one-piece outfits, like sleepers.
Teeth: 4 on top, 2 on bottom

Eating: Grant is a great eater. It's surprising that he is so little, but then he and Evie have similar growth curves. He is the most patient when waiting for food and he opens his mouth for everything. Nothing phases him. In this way he is really laid back. He has no super favorite foods. He is a slower eater, which causes quite a few problems when they are snacking in the kitchen as Henry and Ella finish theirs first and then go after his.

Diapering: Again Grant is more laid back in this department. Plus, even when he does try to roll over he's much easier to wrangle. He could still fit in a sz 3 diaper but wears the 4's for mama sanity.

Movement: Grant's BIG skill this last month was learning that he CAN sit down from standing. At my parents house he'd cause a big ruckus during nap times because he'd pull to standing and then get all upset because he couldn't sit down again. When he finally figured it out he began doing it for fun: in his crib (bouncy), in the tub (splashy) and on the floor (just because). He is slowly getting to enjoy walking but he does so very slowly and carefully. He walks with his knees a little locked so has somewhat of a zombie walk but will get there, like everything else. This is one area where he hasn't done something first.

Toys: I can't say that Grant has a favorite toy. He is content with all of them but he likes to study them intently and explore them. He is likely to sit with the same toy for a long period of time. Opening, closing, tasting, smelling, and touching. I love his curiosity.

Talking: To our dismay, Grant is a yeller and SCREAMER! If you have any tips on stopping this horrible sound, I am all ears!!! He loves to scream for any reason: I'm happy, I'm sad, I'm frustrated, I'm angry, they took my food/toy, Evie's bothering me...they all deserve a good scream! He enjoys saying "ba" not sure what it means yet, but I'm sure it means something to him. He is thrilled when Shawn repeats the word back so maybe it is a love word?

Games: Grant is the BEST game player. Because he is a studier of people and what we do he has perfected peek-a-boo and so big. He loves and delights in playing them. There isn't a game he doesn't like or isn't thrilled to play. Next, I am working on high fives (already pretty good) and my FAVORITE "where's Grant's belly?"

Mommy & Daddy: No favorites with this one. He prefers us both and goes back and forth between us. It's nice to have one that favors us BOTH!

Sleep: Grant gets up WAY to early!! Sometimes before 5 and he rarely ever just goes back to sleep. Usually we have to take him into bed or couch with us and then after 10 or 15 minutes he'll fall back to sleep. Sometimes he won't go back to sleep at all. This is especially true after 5. Grant is still a short napper. He does about 45 minutes and rarely goes over an hour. Lately, I've gotten longer sleep but only because I cuddle him and he falls back to sleep on me. Not a habit I want to encourage but VERY sweet moments for this mama. Unlike his siblings Grant likes to sleep with his "lovey" more then his bear. The lovey is a satin like small "blankie" that he tucks under his body. He prefers stomach sleeping and always has.

Siblings: Grant is not necessarily a push over but his size I think does make it easier for the other two to "abuse" him. He gets picked on the most and the other two steal from him more often. I think that he is going to be crafty or at least will learn to be. UNLESS he gets to be biggest and then maybe he'll be a brute too. It could happen!

Laugh: Grant thinks most everything is funny. Evie especially is HILARIOUS!! She does nothing in particular and he is practically rolling on the floor. He is also the most ticklish and toys delight him. He is similar to Evie in this. She was so crabby the first 3 months of her life and then such a "happy" baby. Grant is the same way. He was crabby and more demanding but now finds life to be a joyful place.

New: We now brush teeth before bed. Our routine is along these lines: 1. Bath (2x a week), clean diaper and pajamas, brush teeth, kisses, and good nights. Grant has left his "serpent" crawl behind and now crawls normally. This is a skill that he started practicing very slowly on the 26th of June. At first he would switch back and forth between the two but now solely cross-crawls. On the night of the 6th of July the babies had their last bottle (woot-woot!) Grant went camping for the first time the week before his birthday and that week was a whole bunch of firsts: first time sleeping in a tent, first time with his feet in Lake Superior (COLD!), first mosquito bites (he's a true MN now), first time swimming in a lake (he specifically loved splashing, he had the most fun), and he tried multiple new foods like mandarin oranges.

What we are loving most about Grant right now: his small size as it's like the best of both worlds-he still looks like more of a baby but acts and interacts like a toddler, his love of games, his deep silly belly laugh, the cheek dimple he got from his daddy, how curious he is, how he loves to crawl over things...he'd love tunnels and mats to crawl over and through, his enjoyment of water, his delight over life, his sweet winks, his shyness and the way he'll smile at you and then hide his head, his blond hair and blue eyes, the way he "talks" with mouth noises, the word ba, belly slaps and sometimes even a head bang. We simply adore you and love you our sweet "baby" boy!

Normally I would include a ton of pictures of this last month (and there were a lot of adorable ones) but I wanted to keep it simple and show you Grant today.

That's his teddy bear. Recognize that outfit? Yep, it's the same preemie one he wore on the day we took him home from the hospital. I took this picture as a reminder of how much he has grown and how far he has come. We love you, baby boy G-man!! We are just excited about the next year as we were for your first. You continue to amaze and bless us daily. We are so awed by God's gift in you and your siblings. You make us so proud!

Henry, 1 Year!

Hard to believe that this was our baby boy Henry. He was born at 1:34 pm feet first, baby B until the end. On this particular day he is getting released from the hospital a whopping 15 days old. This outfit is a preemie outfit and he looks A-DORABLE and oh so tiny! SO much has changed since he was born and this is what this Henry bear is up to and loving:

Weight: 21lbs, 13oz (he has gained 16lbs, 11oz)
Height: 28.75" (he has grown 10.25")
For the record Henry is heavier (by 4lbs, 13oz) and shorter (by .25") then Evelyn at 12 months.
Wears: Size 12 months clothing and size 4 diapers. He can still wear 9 month pants because he has shorter legs, he is too long for 9 month one-piece outfits.
Teeth: 4 on top, 2 on bottom

Eating: Only things he is familiar with. Henry is the least "adventurous" of the 3. He hates to try new foods (he knows they are new just from their look) and turns his head away. If I do manage to get any into his mouth he spits it out real fast. He loves his sippy's of milk and he still loves bananas, yogurt, snack food and Tuesday he surprised me and chowed down (with out so much as a sour face or spitting it out) BACON! He was delighted with it's greasy goodness...who could blame him! He is much more open to new foods if he can feed himself.

Diapering: Henry is not content to sit for a diaper change. He has to be moving, just not as energetically as Ella. He does like to turn over, grab his dirty diaper, and "explore" uncharted territory.

Movement: Henry LOVES to walk and must hold on to hands to do so. He is slowly gaining confidence and everyday we swear will be "THE day." His crawl is still the same silly one legged crawl, which a friend of our dubbed his "monkey" crawl. It is pretty silly! His new mad skill is standing unassisted. Henry is SO PROUD of this ability and squeals with delight and looks around at everyone to get their praises.

Toys: Henry LOVES balls, and since his first time with them (June 26th) he has been practicing to play baseball. He like to put toys into bowls or holes and then take them out again. He likes to pull toys out of the toy bins, glance at them and then move onto the next one.

Talking: He loves saying ma-ma, but has developed a love of teasing. He was teasing me by repeating da-da over and over and when I'd say ma-ma he'd come back with da-da, then he'd give me a cheeky smile. He has been also saying "gad" whatever that is.

Games: Henry enjoys games but loves to be at the receiving end. He will occasionally put up one arm for "so big" and giggles at peek-a-boo and stinky feet but rarely covers his eyes. His games are more putting toys in your lap, throwing ball with you and of course his favorite: toy handing. He loves to hand toys to people. But beware: if you take one he expects you to continue to be on the receiving end until there are no more toys in the vicinity. He also likes it when you hand the toys back.

Mommy: I am is still his main gal. He always goes straight for me when he needs something or just to give out his sweet hugs.

Sleep: Henry is an early riser. We are lucky to make it to 6:30a with him. He loves to throw "Mr. Bear" over the crib before naps & nights but then cries and whines when it isn't there to cuddle. He needs his bear to sleep well. He prefers sleeping on his side in an L shape. It's so cute with his chubbiness. Whenever I look at him this always make me smile. Hopefully the awake time will change as he gets older and it's possible that our neighbors car door slamming early in the morning is the source of his awakenings.

Siblings: Henry can be quite the brute. He has no problem plowing over and through his siblings to get what he wants. He has been known to physically grab them and throw them down. If he was a wrestler he would definitely be winning. He enjoys exploring his siblings eyes and ears to their dismay. He also loves or poke Grant's belly button (for whatever reason) and they both get a kick out of this. I love watching these relationships develop.

Laugh: Henry laughs the most when you are silly with him. He loves to be thrown into the air now but not super fast and not when you start at the floor. He enjoys being chased and finds different things to smile about everyday. He is still the flirt and uses his shy smiles to catch the ladies eyes. That has not changed since his first smile. Nearly every female stranger we meet calls him a flirt. Watch out ladies (and watch out mama!)

New: We now brush teeth before bed. Our routine is along these lines: 1. Bath (2x a week), clean diaper and pajamas, brush teeth, kisses, and good nights. On June 27th Henry finally clapped for the first time and finally got to see what his chubba feet tasted like. On the night of the 6th of July the babies had their last bottle (woot-woot!) Henry went camping for the first time the week before his birthday and that week was a whole bunch of firsts: first time sleeping in a tent, first time with his feet in Lake Superior (COLD!), first mosquito bites (he's a true MN now), first time swimming in a lake (he specifically loved picking dirt/rocks up and putting them in his mouth-ICK. When I tried to stop him we had a lot of tears), and he "tried (ie spit out) multiple new foods like mandarin oranges.

What we are loving most about Henry right now: his chubba arms and cheeks, the way he squeals with pride while standing solo, his monkey crawl and his speed, how he often falls asleep during breakfast and is the first to fall asleep in the car, the ladies man title, his love of balls and his natural mad throwing skills, the pursed lip look he has when he is exploring toys, the way he looks like his daddy, his more laid-back personality, we adore you Henry!! And love you way, way more then you know!

Normally I would include a ton of pictures of this last month (and there were a lot of adorable ones) but I wanted to keep it simple and show you Henry today.

That's his favorite bear. Recognize that outfit? Yep, it's the same preemie one he wore on the day we took him home from the hospital. I took this picture as a reminder of how much he has grown and how far he has come. We love you, baby boy Henry bear!! We are just excited about the next year as we were for your first. You continue to amaze and bless us daily. We are so awed by God's gift in you and your siblings. You make us so proud!

Ella, 1 Year!

Remember this little girl?? She was born at 1:33 pm feet first, baby A until the end. On this particular day she is getting released from the hospital a whopping 20 days old. This outfit is a preemie outfit and she looks A-DORABLE! SO much has changed since she was born and this is what this little sweet pea is up to and loving:

Weight: 19lbs, 4oz (she has gained 15lbs, 2oz)
Height: 28" (she has grown 10.5")
Wears: Size 12 months clothing and size 4 diapers. She can still wear her 9 month pants because she doesn't have long legs, she is too long for one-piece outfits.

Eating: EVERYTHING! Ella is the least picky but the most messy. She loves to push the food out of her mouth to touch and squish and then she puts it back in. Very unladylike. Right now this is my least favorite thing of the day, she is so messy and I don't know how much food she is actually eating. Luckily we are just about done with rice cereal and baby food. She especially loves her sippy of milk, snack crackers, crunchies (like cheetos for babies), pasta pickups. She doesn't have anything she really goes crazy for. If it's food she LOVES it!

Diapering: Ella is one of the hardest babies to diaper, just ask her auntie Laura and ampa A! She is in all out pro-wrestler league. Rarely, if ever, does she just lay still for the process. Ella is miss sensitive when it comes to her skin. She's had the WORST diaper rash that has lasted almost 10 months. I had finally come up with a solution at 5 months but then we introduced solids and it was back to square one. I finally found the right combo in the last 1.5 months of dry bottom and if it gets red a little of Desitin Rapid Relief (it cannot be maximum strength and the generic target brand works the best) and then we have to use Huggies natural care wipes NOT any other brand and NOT sensitive.

Movement: Ella has always been the most energetic and that has NOT changed. She's the fastest crawler and pulled to standing first. I thought she wouldn't walk first but she's been giving her brother a run for the money. She walks with assistance at top speeds. She's yet to gain enough courage/balance for her first steps but it will be any day.

Toys: Ella loves utensils. They must be the perfect toy for chewing on. She also is IN LOVE with her pink bear. She snuggles him in bed and out. She loves to chuck him out of the crib when they go down at night but then in the middle of the night starts crying for him. A lot of the time she uses him as a body pillow. Ella loves music. She bobs up and down to good tunes. She loves things that roll.

Talking: She says da-da the most but has uttered other syllables. She loves to make what sounds like a frustrated noise but in reality is her happy noise. She already puts a "phone" {her hand} up to her ear, she's taking after her sister in that. Though it's not technically "talking" she loves to use her fingers on her lips to make adorable noises.

Games: Ella loves to play: so big. She puts her arms up in the air, and smiles a huge smile. I love that I taught her the game. In fact, it's amazing that I taught her something! She loves peek-a-boo too but has difficulty with the eye coverage, going for her ears instead. It's still fun and adorable.

Daddy: He is still her main man. She lights up with him around and goes straight for him when he gets home, crying if he bypasses without picking her up.

Sleep: She sleeps like a dream, but then always has. Her favorite position is on her tummy arms at her sides with her legs tucked under and butt in the air. It does really look like she just passed out and tumbled there. As previously mentioned she likes to cuddle her bear.

Siblings: Ella is showing signs of being bossy and definitely will not be a pushover. She easily plows over her brothers to get their food or toys she wants. She already frowns in a disapproving way and seems to practice it daily. Her look also looks like "don't even try it!"

Laugh: Ella is a BIG smiler and super silly but she's a little harder to get to laugh. She thinks her sister is hilarious and loves to have Evie chase her. Her inner thighs are very ticklish and it's easy to get her going by tickling her. She also loves to have me rub my face on her belly. With the laughing comes her energetic kicking and flailing and hyperactivity.

New: We now brush teeth before bed. Our routine is along these lines: 1. Bath (2x a week), clean diaper and pajamas, brush teeth, kisses, and good nights. On the night of the 6th of July the babies had their last bottle (woot-woot!) Ella went camping for the first time the week before her birthday and that week was a whole bunch of firsts: first time sleeping in a tent, first time with her feet in Lake Superior (COLD!), first mosquito bites (she's a true MN now), first time swimming in a lake (she specifically loved picking dirt/rocks up and putting them on my lap), and she had multiple new foods like mandarin oranges.

What we are loving most about Ella right now: her smile and gorgeous eyes, the way she excitedly almost dances while practicing walking, the way she adores daddy, the way she cuddles her bear, her laughter, the way she bounces up and down while seated when she enjoys a song, her version of peek-a-boo and so big, her frown face, how she loves to spin around on the floor when she's excited about something, the way she hugs you with her legs when you hold her, the way she uses all her fingers to make mouth noises, how fast she crawls, and her energy. We love you to the moon and back, Ella!!

Normally I would include a ton of pictures of this last month (and there were a lot of adorable ones) but I wanted to keep it simple and show you Ella today.

That's her favorite bear. Recognize that outfit? Yep, it's the same preemie one she wore on the day we took her home from the hospital. I took this picture as a reminder of how much she has grown and how far she has come. We love you, sweet pea, baby girl, Ella!! We are just excited about the next year as we were for your first. You continue to amaze and bless us daily. We are so awed by God's gift in you and your siblings. You make us so proud!

FINISHED-A Week in the Life 2011

I love how the finished product turned out. I am done will the digital portion. There are a few pictures I loved that I want to include and important memories, observations and things I overheard that I don't want to leave out, therefore I am printing out individual pictures and then trimming them to fit in divided protection sheet. I will thus finish this project easily and quickly. I am proud to have gotten it down in the same year as the project, unlike the last 3 years. Next maybe I will conquer 2010's photos/words.

Check back Monday for Ella, 1 Year.

Silly Saturday

Does anyone else have this problem?? Evelyn is CONSTANTLY putting her babies/dolls/barbies/animals to sleep EVERYWHERE! It's a huge problem as they can sometimes take over our couches {as was the case here}, her bed, our floors, and anywhere else she finds to put them. Not only do they require quiet but if {heaven forbid} you move them or anything near them...be prepared for melt-down city. You can see she is also a good mama giving them {each} a bedtime story and covering them with a blankets. The triplets don't, of course, understand they're sleeping and disturb their blankets. We've had a few pre-school tantrums from Evie trying to make her understand she has to either be ok {yeah right} with them pulling them off the couches OR take them to her room. Neither answer is acceptable to her {of course!}. One day this complicated concept will sink in that {said slowly and with emphasis} "they are babies!" I imagine this will be the same time she is dealing with an almost 4 year old herself.

What a year!

Here it is!!! Our year of monthly pictures has sadly come to an end! Can you believe how much they each have changed and grown since that first picture?? I can hardly believe it myself even though I witness it everyday.

Journaling: When you were 5 days old we had our first picture "together". It amazed me on that day that even as tiny as you were, you had all actually fit in my belly! Since then, I have dubbed myself your "bunny" a reference to a scrapbook page I saw, where the child's growth has been documented month by month with a stuffed bunny. To see how you've grown in the last year, we've done the same... only with me. It's been a joy to watch you all grow before our eyes, but we are saddened by how quickly the time has gone. One other thing to notice, darlings, is how much your mama has also changed. From my dramatic hair cuts, 5 day post-partum fatigue, and almost getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight, this year has been as much my journey as it has been yours. Thanks for the ride!! Happy 1st Year, my babies!

To see the pictures closer, just click on the image.

Look next for my individual posts about what they are doing at 1 year plus a post about their circus themed birthday party. Also to come soon...A Week in a Life FINISHED!!!

A Week in the Life-Sunday

Yesterday was our last day of this years "A Week in the Life." I'm not sad about it, but this first day will be a bit harder to stop taking pictures. It is a good thing it is over though as Shawn was "done" with the project;) Here is our Sunday:

By 6:30 a.m all babies up and having a morning snack including their milk. YUM!

6:45 a.m: Shawn is "surfing" the web. I'm sure he was being productive and not Facebooking or the like;)

7 a.m: Let the mess begin!

7 a.m: Evie's first bathroom trip of the day. She is very potty independent, a skill she's had to learn with triplet siblings.

7:15 a.m: This courageous mama stifles her heebie-jeebies and fear of spiders to catch one live with my bare hands. This is what being a mama enables you to do. Evie is afraid of ALL bugs and I wanted to show her there was nothing to fear. Mission Accomplished I like to think!

7-8:30 a.m: Ready for church.

8:30 a.m: On our 20 minute drive to church I read some more John Maxwell's "Make Today Count." Shawn does all the driving (except for long trips) when we go out together.

8:50 a.m: Arrive at Hillside Church, excited for today's worship and message.

8:55 a.m: Drop Evie off at Kingdom Kid's church, a service just for her age group. She learns about a courageous woman today and receives a book mark with a penny attached to remember "In God We Trust!" Eplurbias Unim!!! I agree!!!!!

9 a.m: Worship begins. I love our worship with music!!

9:30ish: Our Pastor is out of town and has asked our worship leader to share and he gives a "sermon" entitled "Cultivating a Heart of Worship." He did a beautiful job illustrating how if we put life before God then there is no room left for Him but if we put God first then there is still room for life. It was beautifully said and very convicting. One of the things that struck me was relating our relationship with God to our relationship with our spouse and how we should commit to being exclusive to Him. Example: we wouldn't look at our spouse only once a week, like we do to God when we do nothing during the week and show up for church on Sunday.

10:30 a.m: Pick up the "babies" from nursery. There are some churches that don't have nursery's and I don't know how "parents" {be honest...moms} do it! My week is "stressful" and can be draining spiritually. I NEED this time for myself to refresh my spirit and be filled for the week ahead. Besides, it's a good chance for the kids to learn to be happy with others and play with other children. So far {knock on wood x3} there has been no evidence "stranger" anxiety. Evelyn only gave us one day {honestly} of it.

10:45 a.m: We head to Target to pick up {SURPRISE} more toddler food, wipes, deodorant, nasal strips and heel band-aids. We try to use the cart instead of the quad stroller {which I am hoping to do in the winter, instead of getting the stroller all wet/muddy} but it was a complete "failure" as the kids {namely Ella} kept standing up and Henry was entertaining himself chucking pasta pickups out of the cart...good times, good times.

11:40 a.m: Putting toddler food away in the "pantry."

1ish: Playing with the kids in our bedroom. Grant was enjoying it when I "dropped" him. Shawn had turned up the AC to "cut" costs but it was a stifling 78 degrees in our house for several hours, hence the naked baby! Well that and who doesn't enjoy baby bellies and sweet limbs??

1:30 p.m: Evie eats lunch {"made rights"} solo as she wasn't hungry while we ate ours. The real truth is that we interrupted her play cooking/feeding babies with lunch an she wanted to get back to it. Thus when she was upset to be eating alone, we had to tell her that this is what happens when she won't eat at normal lunch times.

3ish: Evie fell asleep next to me while reading. She slept in contorted positions for approximately 2 hours, longer then Ella I think. Must've been that 6:07 a.m. wake up.

3ish: G-Man wakes up after only 30 minutes of napping but is sooooo tired he continues his nap with Shawn....too sweet!

4 p.m: Ella is up "first" wants nothing to do with solo play. She sits on my lap and cuddles with me for almost 45 minutes. She's such a daddy girl that I am reveling in the attention!! I receive a text from Tara, our realtor, at 3:10 telling me that she will call at 4:45 p.m with the reply from the sellers on our counter offer. Time sloooooows down! We try to distract ourselves with the movie we've been enjoying "Secretariet." {I highly recommend it, by the way!}

4.47 p.m: Receive the call from Tara....WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!!! This is Shawn shortly after!! Next up: inspection, finally steps in financing, closing and then moving. Last but not least: 20 years of house payments {we are going to put extra towards it every month to pay it off early!}

6 p.m: Shawn starts the charcoal grill to BBQ brats and hotdogs. The rest of the evening is anti-climatic other then all the congrats we receive via Facebook and calling our parents with the good news. We put the babies to bed at 7 despite their good naps {major crabbiness} and watch Toy Story 3 with Evie for mommy-daddy-Evie time. She is in bed at 8:45. Shawn and I watch t.v. and fool around on the internet {including looking at our house online and dreaming}. It's a relaxing end to our week.
